Ron Estes is a Republican U.S. Representative for Kansas's 4th congressional district, serving since April 25, 2017, following a special election to replace Mike Pompeo. A fifth-generation Kansan born on July 19, 1956, and the son of a veteran, he has focused on tax reform, deregulation, trade agreements like the USMCA, defending Wichita's aviation industry, supporting agriculture via the Farm Bill, protecting water resources, advancing pro-life policies such as the Title X Protect Life Rule, and aiding military families and veterans. He previously served as Kansas State Treasurer and Sedgwick County Treasurer , where he implemented efficiencies saving taxpayers over $1.5 million and managed $24 billion in funds under budget.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Earned a degree in civil engineering and a graduate degree in business administration; worked in private sector consulting and management for aerospace, energy, and manufacturing industries, streamlining operations and cutting costs.
  • Political Experience:
    • Sedgwick County Treasurer : Returned $1.5 million to taxpayers through efficiencies.
    • Kansas State Treasurer : Oversaw pension reforms and public funds.
    • U.S. House : Serves on House Committee on Ways and Means , Budget Committee, and Joint Economic Committee; co-chair of House Aerospace Caucus; only former state treasurer on Ways and Means.
