Senator Sasha Renée Pérez ** represents California's **25th Senate District, which includes cities such as Alhambra, Pasadena, Glendale, Arcadia, and Rancho Cucamonga, serving over 1 million residents. Elected in November 2024 and sworn in on December 2, 2024, she is the youngest member of the California State Senate, the youngest female mayor in San Gabriel Valley history, and the youngest Latina to lead a California city with over 50,000 residents as former Mayor of Alhambra. Notable achievements include serving as Political Director for the Yes on Prop 1 campaign , which enshrined abortion and contraception rights in the state constitution; creating Alhambra’s sustainability plan and securing $670,000 in congressional funds; and advocating for expanded Cal Grant access. As Chair of the Senate Education Committee, she serves on committees including Budget, Environmental Quality, Human Services, and Public Safety, and has introduced 44 bills this session . Her legislative priorities include wildfire recovery, protecting immigrants, combating childhood hunger, supporting small businesses, and preventing campus sexual assault.
