Biography
Scott Lawrence Fitzgerald, born on November 16, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, is an American politician and former newspaper publisher. A member of the Republican Party, he has represented Wisconsin's 5th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 3, 2021. Prior to his tenure in Congress, Fitzgerald served in the Wisconsin State Senate from 1995 to 2021, representing the 13th district. During his time in the State Senate, he held several leadership positions, including Majority Leader and Minority Leader. Fitzgerald's political career is marked by his involvement in significant legislative actions, such as supporting Governor Scott Walker's budget repair bill in 2011 and participating in redistricting efforts in 2011.

- Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, 1985.

Military Service:
- Joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 1981.
- Commissioned as a lieutenant in the Armor Branch in 1985.
- Completed the United States Army Command and General Staff College.
- Served in various assignments, including battalion commander.
- Retired at the rank of lieutenant colonel in 2009.

- Elected to the Wisconsin State Senate in 1994, serving until 2021.
