Todd Novak

Todd Daniel Novak is a Republican politician from Wisconsin born on April 23, 1965, in Cobb, Wisconsin. He is a lifelong resident of Iowa County, where he grew up on his family farm. His family immigrated to the United States from Bohemia in the 1860s, and the Novak Family Farm has remained in his family for approximately 150 years.

Before entering electoral politics, Novak worked as a government and associate editor of the Dodgeville Chronicle newspaper from 1990 until his retirement in 2014. He currently resides in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

Political Experience

Novak has held several significant positions in state and local government:

  • Wisconsin State Assembly: Member representing Wisconsin's 51st Assembly District since 2015, serving as Chairman of the Committee on Local Government
  • Mayor of Dodgeville: Served from 2012 to 2024
  • Committee Memberships: Serves on the Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety in addition to chairing the Committee on Local Government
  • Regional Planning: Appointed to the Southwest Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission

Novak became active in state and local politics during high school and developed a friendship with the late State Senator Dick Kruel, which influenced his political engagement.

Novak holds memberships in several organizations, including the Wisconsin League of Municipalities, the National Rifle Association , and the Wisconsin Farm Bureau.
