Biography

Representative Tom Emmer, born on March 3, 1961, in South Bend, Indiana, is a Republican serving Minnesota's 6th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was first elected to Congress in 2014 and has been re-elected in subsequent terms. In the 118th Congress, Emmer was elected by his peers to serve as the House Majority Whip, making him the third-ranking Republican in the House leadership. Prior to this role, he chaired the National Republican Congressional Committee during the 116th and 117th Congresses, where he played a significant role in Republican electoral gains.

Emmer has been a vocal advocate for the cryptocurrency industry, earning recognition as one of Capitol Hill's leading proponents of digital assets.

He and his wife, Jacquie, have been married for over 30 years and have seven children. The family resides in Delano, Minnesota.
