C. Travis Johnson is a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 21 . A native of Ferriday, Louisiana, he owns a restaurant in Vidalia and operates a consulting firm aiding nonprofits and local governments with budgeting and grant writing. He is married to Darylana Johnson and is the father of Xavier Johnson. Notable achievements include securing grants for water, drainage, and infrastructure projects; pioneering the Delta Economic Research & Sustainability District; and serving as Louisiana Tech University's youngest commencement speaker in 2021. He was selected for the Future Caucus Innovation Fellowship and focuses on rural development, sustainability, agriculture, and disaster recovery.

Education and Political Experience

Education: Bachelor of Science in economics and political science from Louisiana Tech University; Master of Arts in public administration from Belhaven University.

Political Experience: Elected November 16, 2019, and assumed office January 13, 2020; re-elected in 2023, eligible through 2028. Previously regional political director for U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu and vice chair of the Louisiana Democratic State Central Committee. Current roles: Vice Chair, Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development Committee; member of Natural Resources and Environment, Ways and Means, Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay, and House Select Committee on Disaster Recovery committees. Vice Chair, Louisiana Rural Caucus; active in Democratic Caucus and Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus.
