About

Senator Victoria Hunt ** represents Washington's **5th Legislative District in southeast King County, including parts or all of Issaquah, Black Diamond, Maple Valley, Renton, Sammamish, Snoqualmie, Enumclaw, Covington, Fall City, Hobart, and North Bend.

An environmental scientist with a PhD in Ecology, she previously served three terms on the Issaquah City Council, where she led development of Issaquah’s comprehensive Climate Action Plan. Elected to the Washington House of Representatives in 2024, she served as Vice Chair of the House Environment & Energy Committee and passed three bipartisan bills in her first session, including EHB 1329 , ESHB 1562 , and SHB 1670 .

In June 2025, she was unanimously appointed by the King County Council to the Washington State Senate, later winning election for a full term. As a senator, she serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Environment, Energy & Technology Committee and member of Transportation and Labor & Commerce committees, prioritizing fiscal responsibility, public safety, housing affordability, education, transportation, and climate resilience—all with bipartisan support.

She lives in Issaquah with her spouse and two children, who attend local public schools.

  • Education: Doctorate in Ecology; experience as a data scientist at Breakthrough Energy, modeling electric grid solutions and advising on carbon emissions reduction.
