Biography
Wendy DeBoer, born on May 16, 1974, in Omaha, Nebraska, is a Democratic member of the Nebraska Legislature representing the 10th District. She was first elected in 2018, succeeding Bob Krist, and was re-elected in 2022. Prior to her legislative career, DeBoer worked as a lawyer and educator, teaching for 17 years.
Education
- Burke High School: Graduated in 1992.
- Hastings College: Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English, 1996.
- University of Nebraska College of Law: Juris Doctor, 1999.
- University of Nebraska at Omaha: Master of Arts in English Literature, 2003.
- Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago: Master of Arts in Theology, 2008.
- Syracuse University: Master of Philosophy in Religious Studies, 2015.
Political Experience

Nebraska Legislature:
- Elected to represent the 10th District in 2018; re-elected in 2022.
- Serves on the Judiciary, Transportation and Telecommunications, and Rules committees, as well as the Legislature’s Planning Committee.
- Previously served as Vice Chair of the Rules Committee.
Throughout her tenure, Senator DeBoer has focused on issues such as education funding, property tax relief, and ensuring affordable and accessible mental health resources. She has also been an advocate for expanding child care assistance to support Nebraska's workforce.
