Biography
Dan Lonowski, born on June 27, 1962, in Stromsburg, Nebraska, is a Republican politician representing District 33 in the Nebraska Legislature. He began his term on January 8, 2025, succeeding Steve Halloran. Lonowski is a retired U.S. Army colonel with 36 years of service in the Army National Guard, where he served as an infantry and armor officer. He also dedicated 34 years to education, including 29 years at Adams Central High School in Hastings, Nebraska, where he was the head wrestling coach and junior high football coach. After retiring from teaching, he became the project coordinator for Area Substance and Alcohol Abuse Prevention, a nonprofit organization serving a four-county region.

- Earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1985.
- Obtained a Master of Science in Education Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1998.
