Biography

Roger Wayne Marshall, born on August 9, 1960, in El Dorado, Kansas, is a Republican politician and physician serving as the junior United States Senator from Kansas since January 3, 2021. Prior to his tenure in the Senate, he represented Kansas's 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Marshall is a fifth-generation farm kid who grew up in Butler County, Kansas. He practiced medicine as an obstetrician/gynecologist in Great Bend for over 25 years, delivering more than 5,000 babies. Marshall also served seven years in the U.S. Army Reserve, achieving the rank of captain.
