Biography
Stephen Allen Womack is a Republican politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Arkansas's 3rd congressional district since 2011. The district encompasses much of northwestern Arkansas, including Fort Smith, Fayetteville, Springdale, and his hometown of Rogers. Prior to his congressional tenure, Womack served as the Mayor of Rogers from 1999 to 2010, where he oversaw significant economic growth, attracting over $1 billion in local investment. He also had a distinguished military career, retiring as a Colonel from the Arkansas Army National Guard in 2009 after 30 years of service.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Arkansas Tech University, 1979.
Military Service: Enlisted in the Arkansas Army National Guard in 1979; retired as Colonel in 2009. His service included a deployment to Sinai, Egypt, in 2002 as part of the Multinational Force and Observers.
