Biography
Debbie Wasserman Schultz, born on September 27, 1966, in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, serving Florida's 25th congressional district. She has been a prominent advocate for women's rights, healthcare reform, and environmental protection. In 2010, she introduced the EARLY Act, which became law as part of the Affordable Care Act, focusing on breast cancer education and awareness. She also co-authored the PALS Act to increase young women's access to mammograms. In 2015, her Rape Survivor Child Custody Act was signed into law, aiding survivors in terminating the parental rights of their rapists.
