Biography
Morgan Luttrell, born on November 7, 1975, in Houston, Texas, is a Republican politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Texas's 8th Congressional District since January 3, 2023. Raised on a horse ranch, he learned the values of hard work and discipline early in life. After graduating from Willis High School, Luttrell earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sam Houston State University in 2000. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Navy SEAL for 14 years, achieving the rank of Lieutenant. During his military service, he survived a severe helicopter crash in 2009 that resulted in a broken back and traumatic brain injury. Following his recovery, he continued to serve until his retirement in 2014. Post-military, Luttrell pursued further education, obtaining a Master of Science in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2016. He also earned an Executive Certificate in Professional Leadership Development from Harvard Business School between 2017 and 2018. Luttrell is married to Leslie, and they have two children, Gunner and Lincoln.
